So You Want to Buy a Puppy?


Dogs are one of the most popular pets owned here in the USA. Let's explore the challenges of the care, responsibility and general maintenance of our beloved pets!

So you have decided to adopt or purchase a puppy? Congratulations!! You are headed on a lifelong adventure. Your puppy is going to represent a 10-15 year investment in time, money, and energy! So a little research into your choice of the breed you purchase will go a long way into  determining the enjoyment of your new family addition.

The first step in selecting a puppy or and older dog is to evaluate your own lifestyle, personality and envirnonment. Are you gone away from home all day? (Your puppy may get lonely during the fist few months and might bark or whine in your absence.) Do you have an easy-going or strict personality? (Your puppy will react accordingly). Do you have a fenced-in-yard or a run to safely house your puppy? Are you prepared to spend some time training and socializing Fido? And do you have enough funds for the proper licensing and veterinarian care? Hopefully you've given these questions some thought.
